December 2004 Archives

December 21, 2004

News from the front.

Been taking it somewhat easy over the last week or so, on orders from those whose orders should not be questioned. No I don't mean, HCW™. Those are just suggestions. To be taken with a grain of salt. And that, only if there is an ad break during a TV show. No, these were like real orders.

So I tried to take it easy. Went to bed earlier than usual. Closed the laptop for longer than usual. Even went for a walk (just one, though it should be more.) Also, been holding off blogging this one and another enterprise of mine, though the ideas are there.

It's a challenge though. So use to going a million miles an hour. The deceleration, where my brain is rammed up against the front of my skull, is a killer. Another month and a bit of this to go still. Need to make the most of it while I can. The wild ride starts up right after that, and no chances for a pit stop for the next 5 years at least. 'nuff said.

Yum.

Reward centers in brain flooded with dopamine as I hit 201 direct connections on LinkedIn, which gave me a full icon. (I thought 200 was the magic number!) Lord knows I worked hard for it. Pimping myself for MBA grads, Arsenal fans, Laval grads, and other professional associations. I made it. 22nd most active Canadian, and I ain't done yet.

Ok now, go back to sleep.

Full eclipse?

Chopper Chicks in Zombietown (previously covered here) is now playing on two channels (one beside each other on the digital cable box) at the same time! What is the significance of such an event ? is it a form of harmonic convergence ? Will something particularly good (or bad for that matter) happen as a result ? Will Billy Bob get back together with Angelina and her adopted Cambodian son (site of a Lara Croft shoot or two) since he plays a dead head in this movie?

Please tell me.

What are the emotions one is supposed to feel when watching a cheeseball of a movie such as Bloodsport with jean-Claude Van Damme ? How does one deal with the bad acting, the cheesy flashbacks and the token blonde hussy who shows us her (as MXC's Kenny Blankenship would say) mommy bags?

Bolo Yeung is not much better either. Would it be better if Ralph Macchio was up there as the Karate Kid ? Would we punch the air and throw on Stallone's (brother's) Eye of the Tiger?

Whoa. The dude who Jean-Claude is taking revenge on Bolo for is none other than the guy who plays Ogre in Revenge of the Nerds. You know the guy who, when hopped up on the chiba chiba, asks almost prophetically, "What if C-A-T spells DOG ?".
