Preferring learning to entertainment, I put down my copy of Bret Easton Ellis' The Rules of Attraction, started only yesterday and following up on William Gibson's All Tomorrow's Parties, and picked up Gwynne Dyer's Future Tense: The Coming World Order.
The verdict. Engrossing. Ties a lot of things regarding the US invasion of Iraq, the goal of Al-Qaeda, and the project of the neo-cons together well. Definitely on my recommended reading list.
In fact, I read the entire thing--254 pages--today, starting at around 3:30PM, taking time out only for regular body functions, eating, sharing a few pleasantries with HCW™ and tucking her in for bedtime.
With that done, I am now watching some cheesy 'ninjas in Africa' movie on the Drive-In Classics digital cable channel as part of Martial Arts Movie Monday. And just like a middling Jackie Chan flick, even the white (and black) people have dubbed voices. Australian accents even for the American ninja.
Going to get caught up on my e-mail now. Maybe do some social networking, moving up from my no. 20 ranking among other things, etc. :-) Finished the puzzle yesterday. Thinking of starting another one.
