Whereas the current job action at work appears to be drawing to a close, as far as official reports go, bringing the promise of modicum of relaxation and a dollop of focus, the professors at the university on the hill have been staging punctual strikes over the last few weeks. In fact, I have missed the last 2 weeks of school, and counting. Would have missed a mid-term exam were it not for the fact that a chargé de cours was able to monitor the exam for us.

My last school term, the Spring one, ended up going more than a month late due to fellow students going on strike. This while I was starting a new job.

Oh well. Tired but in good spirits nonetheless. Ok. Off to bed now.

Massive head cold kicked in to action on Friday night, taking me out for the weekend. Another professor's strike last week on Wed-Thu meant no class. Spent Saturday taking it pretty easy. Read the newspaper, The Economist, watched some Chappelle's Show and rented the remake of The Longest Yard. Looking to maybe stay in town Thursday night in order to see Jarhead at The Paramount downtown. Have to do a school assignment between now and then. 2 more after that.

Pretty tired in general, with the cold kicking at the wrong time. Last week was particularly difficult on the morale, though the prospective of a first scalp was motivating. Need to look at my vacation opportunities to maximize the time off so I can recharge the battery...  'nuff said.

Just finished watching the French version of Enter the Dragon, the classic Bruce Lee flick, with HCW™. It was good for her, though the finale in the room full of mirrors freaked her a bit.

She now understands a number of the moves I make when do kung fu with our dog. The painful cry of mine stopped short each time by her tears before I break his neck with a swift turn of the foot. But I digress.

After that we watched the Habs-Sabres game a bit, with yon hockey dog comfortably installed beside us. The joy of it.
