From strike to strike.
Whereas the current job action at work appears to be drawing to a close, as far as official reports go, bringing the promise of modicum of relaxation and a dollop of focus, the professors at the university on the hill have been staging punctual strikes over the last few weeks…. Would have missed a mid-term exam were it not for the fact that a chargé de cours was able to monitor the exam for us. My last school term, the Spring one, ended up going more than a month late due to fellow students going on strike.
Massive.
Read the newspaper, The Economist, watched some Chappelle’s Show and rented the remake of The Longest Yard…. Last week was particularly difficult on the morale, though the prospective of a first scalp was motivating.

Missive from the front.

Spent a nice quiet weekend with HCW™, which in lieu of spending time together on the evening of our anniversary due to a mid-term exam (how classy of me!… :-/ Watched Batman Begins on the weekend, as well as the movie SAW, which I thought was actually quite well done.

Memorable swims include making jokes with my Mah about Shamu the whale from SeaWorld, and my bestfriend Shannon and the two Ashleys and a denommé Bubbaloo…. Figure 6 hours class plus 6 hours study per week plus the 58.5 hours work (w/ strike pay) plus 12.5 hours combined commute and that doesn’t leave much time for anything else.
